Vanguard Alta CA 204AGH – Camera tripods

Vanguard Alta CA 204AGH Reviews Contributed by Users

First, it seems to be a pretty good lightweight tripod. Haven’t used it much so far. The cons first. OK for still photography. Pretty much impossible to get a smooth pan even with a lightweight video cam. Flip-locks on the legs seem flimsy easy to break.

How Good?

This is a good tripod for our new scope. Scope is "heavy" and this tripod handles it well.

I use this tripod for home and travel video and panorama shots. Lightweight for day hikes and easy to set up. The pistol grip makes adjustments simple.

In search for a good tripod I was recommended to Vanguard from a fellow photographer. I am glad he did. This tripod is better than I could have expected.

I like the ability to lower legs and change the angles independently.

Although I haven’t actually used it yet since I just got it, I did set it up right away. The flip lock legs seemed a little stiff to unlock and lock, but I am hoping it will loosen up with a bit of use. I set the camera on the tripod and liked the pistol grip.
